Tobrimed (Eye Drops)
(Tobramycin)
COMPOSITION
Each ml contains tobramycin 3.0 mg.
THERAPEUTIC INDICATIONS
- Blepharitis, conjunctivitis, keratoconjunctivitis, blepharoconjunctivitis, keratitis, endophthalmitis, dacryocystitis, meibomitis;
- Prophylaxis of postoperative infectious complications following ophthalmosurgery.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
- Hypersensitivity to Tobramycin and other aminoglycosides;
- Pregnancy and lactation (breast feeding);
- Infancy.
ADVERSE EFFECTS
Burning, tingling and itching have been reported in 15% cases. Hyperemia of eye mucous membrane, sensation of foreign body, lacrimation have been reported in 1-5% cases. Keratitis, blepharitis, edema of eyelids, pain in eyes, chemosis, crystal precipitation, cornea ulceration have been reported in less than 1% cases.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
External eye infection: 1-2 drops are instilled in conjunctival sac of affected eye(s) every hour within 6 h. The drug is instilled every 30-60 min in case of development of acute severe infectious process until clinical effect occurs, then reduce a dose. Prophylaxis of postoperative inflammatory complications in ophthalmology: 1 drop every 15 min 9 times before surgery. At night in addition to eye drops use eye ointment for a long drug effect.
DRUG INTERACTIONS
Co-administration with other systemic aminoglycoside antibiotics may enhance systemic adverse effects (nephrotoxic, ototoxic action, disbalance of mineral metabolism and hemopoiesis).
PREGNANCY AND LACTATION
The drug should be prescribed during pregnancy and lactation only if treatment efficacy justifies potential risk for fetus or infant.

5 ml in a plastic vial with a dropper and screw cup in a carton box with an annotation-insert.
