CATAXOL

Cataxol (Eye Drops)
(Azapentacene)

 

COMPOSITION
Each ml contains azapentacene sodium polysulfonate 0.15 mg.

THERAPEUTIC INDICATIONS
- Senile cataract;
- Congenital cataract;
- Traumatic cataract;
- Secondary cataract.

CONTRAINDICATIONS
Known hypersensitivity to any of drug components.

ADVERSE EFFECTS
Local reactions: seldom burning, itching in and around eyelids.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
Only for topical application. Preparation Cataxol is instilled into conjunctival sac of affected eye by 2 drops 3-5 times per day.
It is recommended to close eyelids and press nasolacrymal duct, what decreases the absorption of drug product, as a result its adverse effects reduce. It is not recommended to discontinue the treatment even if rapid improvement occurs. Long term treatment is necessary.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
Patients wearing contact lenses should not apply eye drops Cataxol as the preservative may accumulate in soft contact lenses and have adverse action on eye tissues. It is not allowed to touch dropper tip and surface, as it may contaminate solution.

PREGNANCY AND LACTATION
The application of eye drops Cataxol by pregnant women is possible only under prescription and strict medical supervision. Breast feeding should be discontinued during treatment course.

MANUFACTURED FORM
15 ml plastic vial with dropping stopper and screw cap, supplied with guard ring. Vial in carton box with packaging leaflet.
