Eyecrol (Eye Drops)
(Sodium Cromoglicate)

 

COMPOSITION
Each ml contains sodium cromoglicate 20 mg or 40 mg.

THERAPEUTIC INDICATIONS
- Allergic conjunctivitis (acute, chronic, spring);
- Allergic keratitis and keratoconjunctivitis;
- Syndrome of “dry eyes”;
- Overstrain and fatigue of eyes caused by allergic reactions (environmental factors, occupational hazard, household chemical goods, cosmetic goods, ophthalmic preparations, plants and domestic animals).

CONTRAINDICATIONS
- Hypersensitivity to any drug ingredients;
- Pregnancy;
- Lactation (breast feeding);
- Infancy under 4 years.

ADVERSE EFFECTS
Transient burning and blurred vision, conjunctive hyperemia and edema, lacrimation, sensation of a foreign body in an eye, eye dryness.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
The drug is instilled into a conjunctive sac. The application frequency depends on severity of inflammation.
Children older 4 years: 1-2 drops of 2% solution in both eyes 4-6 times a day in equal time intervals (gradually increase dosage intervals if clinical effect occurs).
Adults and adolescents: 1-2 drops of 4% solution in both eyes 4-6 (up to 8) times a day in equal time intervals (gradually increase dosage intervals if clinical effect occurs).

DRUG INTERACTIONS
It reduces the necessity of application of ophthalmic agents containing glucocorticosteroids.

PRECAUTIONS
It is not recommended to wear soft lenses during therapy. Patients wearing contact lenses should apply only putting them away. Lenses may be put again in 15-20 minutes following instillation.

PREGNANCY AND LACTATION

Application during pregnancy and lactation is contraindicated.
In case of application during lactation breast-feeding should be ceased.
